Local Plant Starts for a Thriving Community

Sage Creations Farm is a diversified family run farm located in Palisade, Colorado.

Owner Paola Legarre has worked in organic farming and marketing for the last 25 years. In looking to continue Paola’s commitment to organic farming and raising her family in Colorado’s clean air and wholesome way of life, her and her family moved to Palisade in 2005. Paola’s first lavender planting was in 2006, marking the beginning of Sage Creations Farm. As her lavender fields grew, she extended her product line to include farm-distilled essential oils, bath and body products, and plant starts.

Paola and her husband Bobby manage the farm and maintain their lavender fields and cherry orchard using sustainable farming practices: nourishing soil life, not using herbicides or synthetic fertilizers and encouraging beneficial insects through diversified plant hedge rows, companion planting and insect releases.

At the Farm

During the growing season, visitors come to enjoy blooms and bounty, to make memories and soak up the serenity of our space. Palisade’s unique blend of mountain weather and high desert elevation lends to high quality lavender and tasty fruit, vegetables, and herbs.

Our Farm Stand is open from May – September

MAY

Early spring is a great time for you to come visit. We open up our boutique plant nursery and offer hundreds of rare and heirloom varieties of tomatoes, peppers and other fruits and vegetable plant starts.  We have a large selection of culinary and medicinal herbs. We are well known for our unique and largest selection of  lavender plants in Colorado.

Our plant starts are healthy, hardy and completely local, since we grow every start from seed (or cutting) right here on our farm.

JUNE & JULY

Our lavender begins to bloom, and our fields become painted with shades of purple and pink. Stroll through the lavender fields, pick your own lavender if you’d like, and watch the bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies relish in the lavender blooms. The last Sunday of June we will have our Lavender Farm Festival, an activity for all, jammed packed with activity and tasty treats.

June is also one of the tastiest times of the year because it’s sweet cherry harvest time! We grow nearly 3 acres of organic Bing and Rainier cherries and sell them at our farm stand by the pound or in big boxes for canning, baking and drying. We will be offering pick your own cherries as well. A fun activity for the whole family.

AUGUST & SEPTEMBER

Peaches and wine is a fruitful time on the Fruit and Wine Byway. Our farmstand and greenhouses are open and offering vegetables, fruit and lavender inspired product.  We have scheduled classes and tours that you can partake in.
